In order for them to correctly transcribe the recorded dictations, medical transcriptionist should have a deep understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, procedures, and treatment acquired through years of training and experience.


 

Quality of reports is critical to this profession as it may put the patient’s health at risk, negatively influence medical studies, research, and may result to inaccurate medical billing by practitioners and insurance reimbursements by health insurance companies.
